Parenting Time
Simply put, parenting time is the time that a child spends with his or her parent. A child needs both parents' affection and support. When the parents do not live together, separate parenting time lets each parent continue to develop a strong relationship with the child.

If the parents can agree on a flexible and reasonable parenting time schedule, the court will almost always endorse their agreement. Only if the parents cannot agree will the court issue an order specifying exactly when the child must spend time with the non- custodial parent.
