Court Orders

• Don't disobey the parenting time provisions in your court order.
  
  
• Do attempt to change them if you think they should not apply.

• Don't use your child to deliver messages to the other parent.
  
  
• Do communicate directly with the other parent.

• Don't let disagreements go unresolved.
  
  
• Do work to resolve disputes with the other parent in a positive way.

• Don't let your child hear you criticize the other parent.
  
  
• Do encourage a close relationship between your child and the other parent.

• Don't plan activities involving yourself and your child during the other parent’s parenting time unless the other parent consents.
  
  
• Do share all information and schedules concerning your child’s activities with the other parent so the other parent can participate, too.
